Innovative design wins award for Donn DX grid

Donn brand DX ceiling suspension system featuring the QRC quick release clip was awarded a prestigious silver medal for innovation by the Concours de L'Innovation.

USG was one of six winners from more than 400 entries in the interior construction product category. On hand to receive the award was General Manager USG France, Mr. Arnaud Dupuis.

The panel of judges favoured Donn DX as USG's product designers had considered how the design would benefit the people who work and use the product.

The innovations include:

	A profiled lead relief edge designed to reduce worker effort during installation and allow insertion in cramped conditions from above or below the grid line.
	Clip to clip lock, designed to ensure strong tight connections, reduce grid creep and maintain ceiling system tolerances.
	A shaped clip flag, designed to ease insertion, reduce snagging and emit an audible 'click' so that installer can hear when the grid is positively locked in place.
	A top stop notch detail, designed to prevent grid drop and allow cross tees to cantilever for greater safely during installation.
	A patented clip design that allows the grid to be removed and reinstalled without the need for tools.
